Hithium Attends 10th Energy Storage West Forum: Leading Energy Storage Value Innovation with the ∞Cell 587Ah Battery

On August 19th, the 10th Energy Storage West Forum was successfully held in Hohhot. Organized by the China Energy Research Society, the Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance, and the Central Enterprises New Energy Storage Innovation Consortium, the forum centered on the theme "Market-Driven, Ecosystem-Empowered: Energy Storage Propels the Construction of a Green Energy System in the West," focusing on the core role of energy storage in the western region's energy transition. Liu Junjun, Product Director of Hithium, was invited to attend, deliver a keynote speech titled "Evolution and Product Implementation of Large-Capacity Energy Storage Battery Technology," and participate in a roundtable dialogue to explore pathways for energy storage value innovation alongside industry experts.
As a crucial exchange platform in the energy storage sector for the western region, the Energy Storage West Forum has, since its inception nine years ago, been dedicated to promoting the healthy development of energy storage and market mechanism innovation in western areas with high proportions of renewable energy. It focuses on key energy transition regions like Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, and Gansu, driving the resolution and breakthrough of critical issues, supporting Inner Mongolia's construction of a national energy trading base, providing a "Western Model" for building China's new energy system, and contributing Chinese solutions to green energy development in global desertified areas.
In his keynote speech, Liu Junjun highlighted Hithium's latest achievements in the R&D and application of new-generation large-capacity batteries. He pointed out that the current large-scale medium- to long-duration energy storage market commonly faces challenges such as complex system integration, significant cost pressures, and high safety and reliability demands. Addressing these pain points, Hithium used large battery solution defining logic as a breakthrough,率先 launching the ∞Cell 1175Ah (suited for 4-8 hour scenarios) and ∞Cell 587Ah (suited for 2-hour scenarios) energy storage battery solutions. He comprehensively analyzed their unique advantages and value in terms of R&D logic, scenario adaptation, and system optimization.
He recalled that Hithium initiated its large-capacity battery R&D layout as early as 2022. In 2023, it globally launched the first 1000Ah+ long-duration energy storage battery and a matching 6MWh+ 4-in-parallel 4-in-series system,率先 achieving efficient adaptation for application scenarios exceeding 4 hours. In 2024, based on the same system architecture platform as the 1175Ah, Hithium introduced the ∞Cell 587Ah battery, which is deeply optimized for 2-hour energy storage scenarios and maintains system platform compatibility with the 1175Ah battery. This provides safe, flexible, and efficient technical support for varying scenario duration requirements.
In the subsequent roundtable dialogue, Liu Junjun delved into the topic of "How the New Generation of Large-Capacity Energy Storage Batteries Achieves Value Innovation" with industry experts. He explained that Hithium's ∞Cell 587Ah battery achieves the optimal balance of performance, safety, and economy with its ideal dimensions of 73.5*286*216mm (W*L*H). Furthermore, breakthroughs in chemical composition, manufacturing processes, and structural innovation systematically address the three major challenges of large-capacity batteries: energy efficiency, lifespan, and safety:
- Energy efficiency reaches 94.5%, significantly enhancing system operational efficiency.
- Cycle life exceeds 10,000 cycles, fully meeting long-cycle application requirements.
- Passes rigorous tests such as GB/T and UL, ensuring extremely high safety and reliability.
- Volumetric energy density increases by 6.5% compared to 314Ah batteries.
Based on this core product, Hithium's developed ∞Power 6.25MWh 2h energy storage system achieves value innovation advantages characterized by "ultimate cost-effectiveness, ultimate safety, extreme ease of maintenance, and superior compatibility," offering a new choice for the energy storage market.
In July, Zhiguang Energy Storage and Hithium jointly launched the third-generation cascaded high-voltage large-capacity energy storage system based on the ∞Cell 587Ah large-capacity battery. This marks the complete journey from technical release to closed-loop application of the world's first large-capacity energy storage battery, injecting new momentum into the safe and efficient development of the energy storage industry.
