Sodium ion Cell

Sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries are next-generation rechargeable batteries that use sodium ions to store and transfer energy—functioning similarly to lithium-ion batteries. These batteries operate by moving sodium ions between the positive and negative electrodes during charge and discharge cycles. Sodium-ion batteries are an emerging commercial alternative to lithium-ion batteries for stationary storage and transportation applications due to the greater abundance and lower cost of sodium as well as their performance advantages at low temperatures.
