Hithium's 587Ah Battery Facilitates the Deployment of the Third-Generation Cascaded High-Voltage Energy Storage System

July 25, 2025 – At the 5th National New Energy Storage Technology and Engineering Application Conference, Zhiguang Energy Storage and HiTHIUM jointly unveiled ZGEner-Plus 3.0, the third-generation high-voltage cascaded high-capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), powered by HiTHIUM's breakthrough ∞Cell 587Ah battery.

This industry-leading solution features:

High voltage and ultra-large single-unit capacity
Fewer AC/DC parallel units
Simplified communication architecture
Direct grid connection (6–35kV) without step-up transformers
Millisecond-level response time

ZGEner-Plus 3.0 achieves a single-unit capacity of 100MW/200MWh with a system conversion efficiency exceeding 92%. It is ideal for grid-forming energy storage stations that require strong grid support and reduced construction costs.

Innovation Through ∞Cell 587Ah and Cascaded Architecture

This marks the world's first successful application of a 587Ah high-capacity battery in a high-voltage cascaded system. Compared to traditional 314Ah solutions, the ZGEner-Plus 3.0 offers:

46% fewer cells and modules – reducing communication layers and failure risk
Lower line losses – thanks to shorter current paths
20–30% smaller cabinet volume – improving space and layout flexibility
Enhanced BMS accuracy – with fewer cells to monitor

∞Cell 587Ah: Strategy Turned Reality

HiTHIUM’s roadmap for high-capacity cell innovation began in 2022. After the 2023 launch of the world’s first 1000Ah+ battery, the ∞Cell 1175Ah, HiTHIUM released the 587Ah model in 2024. It’s specifically optimized for 2-hour applications, while retaining the same system platform as the 1175Ah, allowing flexible deployment across various durations.

At the conference, Dr. Kongyao Chen from HiTHIUM’s Advanced Research Institute presented the keynote: "Optimized Design and Application Value of the ∞Cell 587Ah Energy Storage Battery", outlining the design rationale, integration process, and real-world applications.
